The multidisciplinary team at CSRT are stroke rehabilitation specialists and help more than 500 stroke survivors in the Portsmouth area every year. The team take patients through a recovery process where they learn to improve functions, relearn skills and regain independence to enhance their daily living, post-stroke.
Set up in February 2005, the team started with a case load of just 18 patients, which has grown to an average of 60 patients at any one time by this year. The average length of stay for patients is around 30 days and the team operate 7 days a week.
Our current Chairman chose this charity to benefit from PPA raised funds because a former PPA Chairman, suffered a stroke and the CSRT specialists have really helped him with his recovery.
