Shaping Portsmouth Conference 2022

It was a delight to be exhibiting at the Shaping Portsmouth Conference.

Shaping Portsmouth Conference was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about what has been going on in Portsmouth, connecting with local businesses, and seeing members pop by for a chat.

The PPA stand was great to engage with people, and it is such a informative and inspiring event that Stef Nienalltowski puts together, it was great to support.

A really good event – thanks to Amanda Hunter and Alan Cufley for visiting the PPA stand.

Neil Hawkins, Secretary

It was really inspiring to hear Alice Hendy, R;pple Suicide Prevention – speaking to Stef regarding the digital tool she has created following the loss of her brother Josh.

“Ripple is a digital tool, which if a user searches for harmful content online (huge red flag and can suggest dangerous and imminent risk of suicide completion), they will first be guided through a filter of breathing exercises and then very simple, uncluttered and calmly presented strategies and forums, help lines and mental health services they can access both now and longer term: accompanied with messages of hope and encouragement to keep safe.” Alice Hendy.

Other inspiration speakers were 5 young people with diverse abilities / disabilities talking about their careers, as well as speakers from our communities within communities, and the Shaping Portsmouth Awards.

Certainly wonderful to see our members in attendance as well as exhibiting too, and engaging with our Portsmouth community.

Thank you to Stuart Brown and team for having us next to the webmaster, at her stand Wheeler & Lai Chartered Surveyors! Always handy to be at hand!
