An Associate member Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Gareth joined the Property Services team as a Conveyancing Executive in 2013 after previously working in litigation with a local top legal 500 firm. Gareth holds experience in a wide variety of property matters including personal charges, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, leasehold property, sales of part and plot sales.
Jonathan Tawse Solicitor (Havant Branch)
With many years' experience working in property law, Jon Tawse is one the South's most knowledgeable legal experts in all matters involving or connected with Leasehold Enfranchisement acting for both Landlord and Tenant From lease extensions, to collective enfranchisement and the right to manage claims, Jon works closely with a number of specialist surveyors both locally and in London and the suburbs. He has also dealt with a number of leasehold house enfranchisement cases under the 1967 Act. These are quite rare in the South He keeps up-to-date with enfranchisement legislation, County Court proceedings and most importantly decisions of the First Tier Property Tribunals. 'There have been a number of important decisions in recent years specifically in relation to deferment rates outside London,' he explains. 'It has been a controversial area and a number of important cases have influenced the costs associated with individual lease extensions'. It is a very fast evolving area of law and keeping abreast of current trends is vital in order to provide sound legal and practical advice In recent years, there has been a strong interest in enfranchisement work and Jon notes that 'clients often carry out preliminary research through the Leasehold Advisory Service and other excellent online sources before embarking on the legal process' Whilst the law is complex in this area Jon believes it is of equal importance to understand the position of the parties since frequently time and money can be saved by agreeing a settlement which may make sense to both parties.
Lorna Newnham Licensed Conveyancer (Havant Branch)
Lorna is a Licensed Conveyancer who joined the firm in August 2004 and specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing within England and Wales. She's recently been promoted to an Associate. Lorna sits on the committee for the PPA and specialises in all areas of residential property transactions. She has a young family and weekends are spent spending quality time together.

Mark Watson Chartered Legal Executive (Fareham Branch)
Mark who is a Chartered Legal Executive joined Glanvilles in January 2011 having previously been an Associate and a Manager of a Residential Property Team with a local top legal 500 firm. He became an Associate on 1 May 2013, and is now Head of Conveyancing. Mark qualified in 1988 and began his career in civil and criminal litigation and subsequently specialised in Land Law & Conveyancing. Mark specialises in all aspects of Property work to include buying and selling, new build development purchases, remortgages, leasehold matters, buy-to-let investment work and maintains his interest in the subject of Land Law and lectures extensively outside the office to local business on land law and conveyancing practice, and has recently been on local radio presenting on the subject. Mark is a member of the Portsmouth Property Association and is actively involves with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and is currently education officer for the Portsmouth & District Branch of CILEX, having previously been Chairman.
Samantha is a solicitor at Glanvilles Solicitors. Samantha is a specialist expert with over 10 years experience in leasehold enfranchisement. Sam acts for landlords and tenants in lease extensions, enfranchisement and Right of First Refusal matters. Sam’s approach is to be pragmatic. She appreciates that this is the first time that many of her clients have been involved in this process and so it is quite daunting, and often the cause of much frustration! Sam will explain the processes and the options involved to allow the client to make an informed decision in relation to their matter and keeps them updated throughout the matter.
